On the left here is my final product of the Film Magazine Front Cover. This was done using Photoshop and using some fonts from the website www.dafont.com
All of the aspects on this product have been influenced mainly through research into other film magazines where they have featured a up coming film. As well as the normal magazine layout and features such as the bar code, issue number, price and website.
The image in the background of this was taken prior to filming for the trailer so costumes and setting are both accurate to the setting of the film.
As for the fonts that I have used on this, I have tried to keep the fonts similar, with the exception to the film title. This is because the font for the film title has its own identity with it so having that in the same font would not be authentic.
As for this I have tried to conform to the norms of a similar working media product to achieve the best possible standard for my work.
On the right here is the Film Poster that I have made for my film 'Forest Massacre'. This still image was taken also before shooting so again the setting is accurate and true to the film. As for the production companies, I took into account the ident that our group had chosen to put before the film trailer, so therefore I put Lionsgate on there. As for the Miramax logo, I found that on a lot of other horror film posters there tends to be two productions companies names on there so this is why I added this in, for authenticity.
As for both of the above media products, I kept the same font throughout for the title of the film. I felt that this is important because every film has a particular font that suits the title of the film and therefore is always associated with that film. Therefore keeping the same font throughout helps to achieve this consistent house style.
As well as these, I also had to create a Film Trailer, which me and my group made a YouTube account and posted the trailer onto that website for public viewing. The link is as follows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49QXlvQi71g

Problems When Shooting (Chapter Sheets)
Scene 1 - Panning Shot of Forest.
Problems: In this scene when we first filmed it, the person who was filming did not have a very steady hand to therefore the footage was not what we wanted. To resolve this we simply filmed the same shot on a different day, and somebody else filmed the scene, aiming the improve the smoothness of the shot.
Scene 5 - Walking Shot of Teenagers
Problems: This scene only had one issue and that was the shot angle. Our idea was to have a low angle shot and for the first take, this was not the case. After looking back at the footage just after it was shot, the group realised that it was not what we wanted for that particular scene. This meant that it would have to be filmed at a lower angle, which meant the person behind the camera had to crouch down more in the bush.
Scene 11 - Steve Walks Away From Group
Problems: There was only one small problem with this scene and that was the actor playing Steve looked at the camera whilst he was walking towards it. This wasn't too much of a problem because when he does it is only for a split second and he doesn't react to it. If the actor smiled or kept looking at the camera, then the group decision would have been to film again, as this wasn't the case we decided to keep it in the trailer.
Scene 13 - Group Becomes Aware of Their Missing Friend
Problems: The problem here was that in order to get the desired shot angle, we had to get one of our group to climb a near by tree. This was done out of the group members choice and the shot was done as quickly as possible because of the risks behind this. This problem did not affect the way the film was shot, but instead made it better because we as a group wanted to get a variety of shots where possible.
Scene 15/16 - Teenager Finds Steve and Alerts Group
Problems: This scene was filming inside a run down building so it therefore had some sort of shelter to it. This meant that on top of the already dark atmosphere, there was a lot of shadow in this area. This meant that we had to edit the brightness on the Apple Mac to be able to see the footage. This turned out for the better because it makes the scene look 'grainy' which fits the horror feel to the trailer.
Scene 17/18 - Group Goes Looking for Steve
Problems: This scene was filmed at the very last minute before it would have been too dark to film. This lighting issue became a very big problem for us. We resolved this by filming for 40 minute periods everyday until the filming was done. Another way in which we resolved this issue would be the fact that we brought flash lights with us. Although this doesn't help in terms of the background, for the feel of this certain scene it worked very well therefore we decided to keep it.
Scene 20 - Teenager Sits Down On His Own
Problems: This scene, as well as scenes 15 and 16, was very dark. This was again because of the very fast sunset. This problem was also resolved by editing the footage to make it brighter, this again added the 'grainy' effect I previously spoke about.
Scene 21 - Teenager Running Away From Unknown Figure
Problems: When we had filmed this scene and looked back on it when editing. We as a group felt that the running wasn't as quick as we thought it should have been. This problem was resolved by speeding up the footage using the editing features on the Apple Mac. We only sped up this clip by a small amount but we feel that this has improved that particular clip to fit in with the rest of the trailer.
